Characteristics of substance Desonide 0.05%
Glucocorticoid for topical application.
Small plates or white or nearly white, odorless. Soluble in methanol, practically insoluble in water.
Pharmacology
Pharmacological action – anti-local, anti-allergic, vasoconstrictor. Induces the formation lipokortinov inhibiting the activity of phospholipase A2, inhibits the synthesis of PG and LT. Reduces vascular permeability, chemotaxis, contributes to the stabilization of lysosomes.
Application of the substance Desonide 0.05%
Inflammatory diseases of the anterior segment and its appendages: allergic conjunctivitis, squamous blepharitis, episcleritis, recurrent iritis, iridocyclitis (posterior segment of the eye), postoperative and post-traumatic inflammation of the eye, thermal and chemical destruction of the cornea.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, increased intraocular pressure, conjunctivitis with ulcerative keratitis (including in the initial stage for a positive test with fluorescein), viral diseases of the cornea (including those caused by Herpes simplex, in the stage of ulceration), ocular tuberculosis, mycosis of the eye, purulent ophthalmia, purulent conjunctivitis, purulent, and herpetic blepharitis and barley.
Restrictions apply
Pregnancy, breast feeding, children’s age (safety and efficacy in children not identified).
Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy and lactation is possible only under strict indications and under the supervision of a physician.

Side effects of substance Desonide 0.05%
Local reactions: a tingling or burning sensation in the eye, with prolonged use – increase in intraocular pressure, a decrease of fields and visual acuity, optic nerve damage, cataracts, corneal perforation, development of fungal infection.
Dosing and Administration
Topically. Eye drops – 1-2 drops or eye ointment (for the pawn eyelid) 3-4 times per day. Combined application: during the day – eye drops at night – ointment treatment – 2 weeks.
Precautions substance Desonide 0.05%
If necessary, continue treatment for more than 2 weeks, the regular control of intraocular pressure.
Not recommended for use in case of damage, and corneal abrasions (slows healing, contributes to the spread of infection).
With care apply in cases involving thinning of the cornea (the possible perforation of the cornea).
In viral diseases caused by Herpes simplex, apply only in the combination therapy together with antiherpethetical means and only under the constant supervision of an ophthalmologist.
Cautions
Can be applied during the drivers of vehicles and people, the profession which is associated with increased concentration.
